Directories dissapearing

description

Having an issue with the movie directories disappearing after reboot. I have to go an add them all again and allow the program to refresh the database. Any ideas on how to fix this as I do not want to add action, sci fi, kids, horror, etc.. directories everyday.

Thanks...

I have this same issue. Every time I reboot the configured directories disappear. If I exit HMC and restart it, the problem does not occur, a full reboot of windows is required to make the directories disappear. I reboot very seldom, so it's an infrequent issue for me, but is still frustrating when I have rebooted and forget to reset the directories. I think it started happening when I updated to v2.7.5298.38760 -- though I'm not sure what version I had before that -- I'm running win7. Thanks!

I'm happy to report that this issue seem to have gone away with an update 2.8.5525.34946

Thank You!

I have this issue since upgrading to the latest version (2.8). Earlier versions had an xml file in which settings such as the folders you want to share with your media players could be stored, but after upgrading to 2.8, the xml file (I think it was settings.xml) was gone.

Can I still use this and can someone privide a sample xml file?

Otherwise, I really like this media center because of it's simple design and powerfull performance. I especially like the fact that I can play an iso file of a DVD on my andoid box (using Kodi) as if I was actually playing the dvd in a dvd player, with all options, in stead of having to search the correct VOB file to play etc.

Regards, Remco

Just noticed: in Home Media Center 2.8, the settings.xml file does exist in the appdata\roaming\home media center folder, but this is an empty file.

I uninstalled 2.8 and installed 2.7, and after filling in my configuration, this was saved into the settings.xml file in the same location as above.

Seems there is an issue with saving your settings into settings.xml with 2.8. Does it need to be run as administrator to do this as of 2.8?
